Emergency Food Supply And Water Storage

The U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recommends having a three days worth of food, water and supplies per person at your home in case of disasters. What happens if you need to hold out longer? Or, after a state of emergency, do you really want to venture to the local grocery store where there will likely be a run on supplies? Other options to water barrels are emergency water filters and water disinfectant tablets that allow you to filter and reduce bacteria from various water sources. Portable water filters and water tablets are also great for camping and outdoor enthusiasts as well.

While emergency food and a clean water source are very important, there are other essentials to long term survival and sustainability such as having a first aid kit, a heat and cooking source, sanitation, and communication tools.
